In Hoi An I found stationary and envelopes. We were after all in THREE STAR hotel! I also was able to retrieve the addresses again, which I promptly wrote on the envelopes.
Hue, found a post office, bought stamps and wrote the letters, but I needed to make copies to send to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Took a walk this morning found a copy shop and was able to copy the letters (1000 VNDong) less than a penny. Then I discover the envelopes have no glue! I show this to the young man who made my copies and he produces what I think is glue stick. Its not... but rather a small bottle of glue which I proceed to pour an excess of onto the flap. Moping it up with a finger and spreading it onto all three envelops. Mission almost accomplished. I march back to the Post office and finally post the letters, a week and three cities later. We are so spoiled by email ;-)
Returning, I happen upon a young woman selling something intriguing around a large piece of bamboo.

She offers me a taste. Its a sausage of some kind, probably pork base, which she slices and puts on a small baguette with a bit of lettuce and chili sauce. a Give her a few dong for the taste and head back to th hotel for breakfast.

A wide array of VN and western foods, little fish cakes, tiny pork filled wonton like dumplings, spring rolls,

Fried rice, fried noodles and bacon, then there are juices, coffee, and tea, and of course all the fruits mango, pineapple, watermelon (used a lot at Tet because of its color) and passionfruit. We are never wanting for food ;-)
