Children

One more sweet child with her papa on the riverside

Though one often sees one or two kids jammed on a scooter between parents, they are often helmeted too. A pretty pink helmet for this youngster.

Oh so necessary in the motor scooter swarms that abound in Sai Gon

undeterred by a deluge scooterists in Hoi An don colorful rain gear to stay in the mobile game.

Mine is chartreuse ;-)

If I hadn't been to Jakarta a few years back to experience the bee hive swarms of scooters and motor cycles, I would be utterly amazed at the number clogging the streets and boulevards of Sai Gon. But the Viet Namese are far more sane and orderly, they move like water, not going all that fast. Crossing the street takes intention and commitment , but it can be done. Not so in Jakarta, pedestrians haven't got a chance.
