Cao Dai

Another adventure today heading west of town to an unusual temple of the Cao Dai sect, an amalgam of Christ,Buddha, Tao thought begun by intellectuals in the 1920s. I gues they picked the best parts from each philosophy

Lovey gardens surround the temple, carefully manicured by cigarette smoking gardeners

Interior, expansive and colorful

Devotees come four times a day for prayers, while an orchestra and choirs chant

Three hours there and back. WE opted not to go to the Chu Chi tunnels, yesterdays trip to the War Remembrance Museum was quite enough war remembering for both of us.
