After our travels in Ninh Binh we return to Hanoi for a few hours. Its warm and sunny, we see floral displays going on in the park around Hoan Kiem lake, many banners and displays to celebrate the 83rd founding of the VN Communist Party we find a cool place for dinner above the rush hour traffic snarl, our attitude about the city suddenly changes to be more favorable from out first cold and dreary one ;-)
I did get in a bike ride in the morning before leaving Tam Coc to a sweet 16th century buddhist temple.
i made it all the way to the top of three levels. An easy climb after the hike of the previous day.
Farewell to the rice planting in Central Viet Nam and on to the far northwest.
